About the event
This event will examine new options for embedding artificial intelligence in medical devices at the "edge". Edge AI involves employing AI models in devices not always connected to the cloud. We explore the different architectures from cloud-only to device-only AI and the advantages/challenges of the varying approaches.
We look at a case study of one of the early pioneers in this space, a hand-held cervical cancer screening device, then explore the capability of the latest technologies available from Intel and Nvidia. We discuss the typical use cases and typical data-sets where the edge AI paradigm makes sense.
Finally, Genesys will present a project for a Rapid Prototyping Development Platform for Edge AI, that it will be starting soon as part of its involvement with the ARC Hub on Connected Sensors for Health.
The AI educational parts of this presentation will be delivered by Reza Argha from UNSW and the rest will be presented by a number of different Genesys Staff.
